Doing DIY projects can be a fun and rewarding way to spend a rainy day. DIY projects are great for people of all ages and can often be done with things you already have in your house! However, if you’re new to the world of DIY, it can be intimidating to know where to start. Thankfully, there are tons of easy DIY projects that can be done by basically anyone! Here are a few.
Wooden Crate Table
These wooden crate tables look shabby chic but are actually quick and easy crafts that barely take any effort at all! To create a wooden crate table, pick up a few wooden crates at your local craft store. You can either buy pre-painted ones, paint them yourself, or leave them unfinished- the choice is yours! Then, arrange the crates in a way that you like. You can try stacking them, placing them side by side, or arranging them in a more unique way. To stabilize your table, you can screw the crates together to ensure they don’t come apart. Your new table will be sure to get tons of compliments, and your piece of Baton Rouge real estate will instantly look cozier!
Plastic Bottle Planters
These cute planters are a great way to recycle old plastic while adding some color to your home! To make them, cut the bottoms off of old plastic bottles. Soda and water bottles are most commonly used for this craft, but you can use any kind of bottle you see fit. Be sure to rinse and dry your bottles before cutting a few holes in the bottom for water drainage. Next comes the fun part! Choose a color of paint you want to use, and start painting your bottles! You can add fun details, like googly eyes or stickers to create unique planters that will brighten up your day whenever you water your plants! This project can be especially great for kids, as they’ll love getting to decorate their planters with fun colors and designs.
Cute Throw Pillows
Throw pillows are incredibly easy to make and only require a few materials! To start, you’ll need some scrap fabric, pillow stuffing, and a needle and thread. Start by cutting the fabric into squares, or whatever shape you’d like your pillows to be, and sew them together. Then, flip the fabric inside out and stuff it with pillow stuffing. Sew the rest of the fabric up, and voila! A cute throw pillow to make your home a little more comfortable. These pillows can also make great gifts, and with the holiday season right around the corner, your friends and family will be lining up for their own!
You wont believe if I tell you I am doing the same projects right now. Done with lots of planters from bottles. Next up is a wooden crate side table.
